As England unites for the start of the 2010 FIFA World Cup, Absolute Radio is sending a message of support to our boys in South Africa with a mass sing along to Three Lions at this weekend’s Isle of Wight Festival.
Introduced by Breakfast Show DJ Christian O’Connell, festival-goers will be shown a video message from the stations resident football pundits Baddiel and Skinner in South Africa, before Ian Broudie leads thousands of fans in singing the no.1 football anthem as a giant England flag passes over the crowd.
Breakfast Show DJ Christian O’Connell said: "It’s set to be one of the biggest weekends of the year with the World Cup and summer festival season both kicking off within hours of each other. There is no doubt the Isle of Wight crowd will sing their hearts out like Lions to give the England team a roaring start to the tournament."
The Three Lions sing along will happen at 18:10 on Friday 11th June at Seaclose Park, before Doves, Calvin Harris, Florence + The Machine and Jay-Z take to the stage on day one of the three-day music festival.
Paul McCartney, The Strokes, Pink, Vampire Weekend, Doves, Editors, Spandau Ballet, Crowded House, Squeeze, La Roux, Marina & The Diamonds and Blondie are some of the other acts set to perform at Isle of Wight Festival and Absolute Radio will be bringing listeners the best live performances and backstage interviews on 105.8FM in London, nationally on DAB or 1215AM and online at www.absoluteradio.co.uk.
