Hi there

Advice on car ferry bookings please! Southampton to East Cowes seems v expensive.

Wightlink from Yarmouth to Lymington is half the price but is there a reason for this?

Don't mind a slightly longer drive to festival site at IoW end. Anyone used this route in previous years?

Ta!

Fares seem to depend on what Wightlink and Red Funnel think they can get away with on any given time or day!!
Just book the cheapest most convienient crossing.

I use this route every year to go to the festival, but i do have the advantage of only living 10 minutes drive away from Lymington. Always go as a foot passenger though, because it really cheap at only £8.60 each way, not sure on travelling by car though, i do know it is expensive, but do what the others have suggested and you might find a bargin.

iv travelled to an island festival by car on three occasions now, each time paid just about £50 for car (which is not a lot more for 2 people returns on the jet)

went for lymington myself, i live about same travel time from lymington as Southampton, but quicker crossing

Just be aware that Yarmouth is on the Isle of Wight, and Lymington is on the mainland, so don't book that crossing on Thursday.... I believe one of the operators lets you use Tesco Clubcard vouchers if you have them (not sure which one, though), but Yes - this close to the festy, expect to pay over £100 in total if you want to go on Thursday and come back on Monday.

Wightlink accept Tesco vouchers.

You have to exchange your club points for vouchers, then book with Wightlink by telephone at least 2 weeks prior to travel. You then have to send them the vouchers by recorded or registered post.
