We were amazed to hear yesterday of a phantom cat shaver on the loose in Shanklin.

Following our appeal about the small grey cat found in the same town, Ethan Woodford mentioned on our Facebook page that someone had been shaving his cat.

As you can see from the photos that Ethan sent us yesterday, his poor moggy has been subject to a shaving in several places.

The work of two people?

Given the location of the shavings it looks as though it’s the work of two people and on the front leg, it looks as though the skin was also cut during the process.

It’s happening about once a week, Ethan says, with his cat returning home with his back legs and groin shaved.

Ethan says that he’s heard of other cats in the area receiving the same treatment. Anyone else heard similar stories?

Possibly THE most surreal story to come out of the Isle of Wight in a long time...

There will be a lot of cat litter sold in Shanklin now coz no one will let their cat outdoors. :lol:
