The 10th Isle of Wight Festival is on the 13th, 14th & 15th June 2008.
Getting to the Festival
If you are camping and bringing your car, you will be directed to one of our campsite car parks, please do not attempt to sleep in or near your car. You will be directed into the specific camping fields. If you're coming to the festival without your car, there are festival buses from the ferry ports- please see details will be published at
www.islandbuses.info. If you are local, regular bus services will still operate.

Buses after the festival
From the end of the festival on the Sunday until midday on Monday, Southern Vectis will be running return festival shuttles back to all ferry ports to connect with all departing ferries (including departures through the night).
Access to Newport
Newport is the Island’s main town and retail centre. Close to the bus station are Somerfield, Morrisons and Marks and Spencer. There are also plenty of cafes and pubs in town. Get there on the Newport shuttle bus, or it is a 15-30 minute walk, depending which part of the festival site you are stating from.

2) Camping Info
Campers arriving at the Festival
Follow traffic signs to the camping entrance on Fairlee Road. Where you will be directed to the car parks and then into the camping area. You will not be able to sleep on your vehicle unless you have booked a campervan pass. Your wristband will give you entry to the main festival and campsite all weekend so please take care of it.

From the campsite into Strawberry Fields and the Main Arena
There are paths from the campsite through Strawberry Fields, and into the main arena. This means there is no need to walk along the road. For you own safety please stick to the path, it will be well sign posted and lit up at night.
Campsite Safety
- Security staff will be patrolling the campsite but please do not leave anything valuable in your tents.
- Always follow the instructions and warnings of a security personnel & police.
- and totally empty your vehicles. Leave the glove compartment open and conspicuously empty and leave nothing lying on the seats.
- Leave valuable items at home use a cheap disposable camera, leave your watch and any expensive jewellery items as home.
- Safety in numbers try to camp in a group with your friends, or chat to the people in the tents next to you and look out for each others belongings.
- When you leave your tent take anything valuable with you, don’t attempt to ‘hide’ anything under a pile of belongings.. thieves will rummage through everything quickly and take anything of value.
- When you’re sleeping don’t leave your valuables all in the same place.. girls, don’t leave everything in your handbags or you might lose the lot. Split everything up and hide in different places around you tent.
- If you do see a theft taking place please do not intervene, you may end up getting seriously hurt. Please alert a member of the security staff or camp-site staff asap.
- Always go to the cashpoint with a friend, especially when it gets dark.
- Only bring credit cards that you are going to need/use.
Camping Quiet Area
'Sleepy Hollow' is a quite area of the campsite for families who don’t want to be in the thick of thing and catch some zzzz’s, ask the campsite staff for directions.
Showers
There are showers in the main campsite, the quiet family area and at media leisure centre. All are free of charge.
Campsite Facilities
Grocery stores, a pharmacy, welfare / lost property. Newport town centre is only a short walk from the festival site, where you can find supermarkets, restaurants, bars, a cinema, fast-food, clothes shops, camping shops and the main bus station.
Fires in the Campsite
Please do not light fires in the campsite, it is strictly prohibited.
Gas Stoves
Are permitted but please use safely and follow the manufacturers guidelines... do not use inside tents!!
BBQ's
Small instant bbq's are fine to use but please be careful and follow the manufacturers guidelines. If you are seen to be causing a hazard the security staff will stop you from using them.
Campervans
There will be a separate area for campervans - please note NO CARAVANS! Please be aware that hook ups (water/electricity) will not be provided. Everyone staying in the campervans must also have a weekend camping ticket. If you don’t have a campervan ticket, please don’t turn up on spec, we are sold out and will not be able to accommodate you!!

3) Inside the Arena
Entry for non Campers
If you travel to the festival on a bus you will arrive at the campsite where you can gain entry through the campsite into Strawberry Fields and the main arena. You will walk back the same way if you are catching a bus at the end of the festival.
Your wristband is needed to gain access all weekend so take care of it, replacements will not be issued.

Disabled Access
All people seeking disabled access must have booked through Ticket Zone on 08705 321 321. If you haven't done so, I'm afraid we cannot accommodate you as disabled access is now sold out. If you have booked your space on the platform and in the car park, please enter the festival via the Backstage/Artist Entrance, opposite Seaclose Stores on Fairlee Road. If you do not require parking provision, you can also be dropped off at the Backstage/Artist entrance.
Getting in - Festival First Members
There will be a separate Festival First entrance, look out for signs or ask a member of staff upon arrival. You will need your Festival First card to gain entrance.
Food and Drink
Please do not bring any food or drink into the arena, with the exception of soft drinks in plastic bottles, with unbroken seals (up to 500ml per person). Exceptions can be made for diabetics or those with specific dietary requirements.
Alcohol
You have to be 18 years old to purchase and drink alcohol, please remember to being proof of age as you may be asked at the bar.
Facilities in the Arena & Strawberry Fields
There are bars and stalls as well as plenty of toilets- so boys, please don't use the fences! You will find Welfare marquees’ in the campsite and the festival arena. Welfare will provide you with information on the site as well as travel (ferries, buses). The following services are also provided; counselling, message board, lost property, lost persons, health promotion (general & sexual).
Bars and Other Entertainment
At the moment we can confirm that the all new Big Top, Hipshaker, the Zebra Champagne Bar, the Bandstand and the Kids Zone will all be back in the Strawberry Fields, but please check back as more information will be confirmed closer to the festival.

Road Closures

Fairlee Road residents parking during festival
There is no parking on the roadside as a clearway order is in place. If you live on the Newport end of Fairlee Road then you may park in Staplers or apply for a permit.
Use of Seaclose Park
Seaclose Park will be closed to the public for a period before and after the festival. More details to be published later.
Access to boats at Newport Quay
There is access available to boats at Newport Quay. Please liaise with Newport Harbour Master.
Using Medina Quay pub during the festival
The pub / restuarant will be closed during the festival.
Using the Classic Boat Museum
The museum will be closed whilst the festival is on, for exact times call 01983 533493
