The Charlatans have reached their 20th Anniversary and are back to headline at this years Isle of Wight Festival for the third time since it’s reincarnation. 2008 saw their innovative online release of ‘Cross My Path’ hit 60,000 downloads in the first week alone, proving they still have exactly what it takes. The Brit-Pop legends, whose die hard fans include Mark Ronson and Klaxons, will be playing some of their infamous 90's anthems from a repertoire of an amazing ten studio albums and will see front man Tim Burgess curate a line-up of his favourite acts under the roof of the atmospheric Big Top Stage on Sunday 14th July.
The Charlatans (known in the United States as The Charlatans UK owing to an American band having the same name) are an English alternative rock band.
The Charlatans' debut single "Indian Rope" in 1990 on the band's own Dead Dead Good Records label. It proved an indie hit and the group soon found a major label, Beggars Banquet off-shoot Situation Two, in time for the release of "The Only One I Know" which reached the Top 10 in the UK singles chart.
